Job Seeker Advice from Chris Bahr - NJSA Staffing Employee of the Year – Runner Up

Chris advises those searching for a job not to waste time repeatedly trying to contact a company that does not return emails or telephone calls, instead one should “move on to the next opportunity. Working as a contractor for Joulé Clinical for nearly a year, Chris lauded his recruiter for delving deeply into his skills and background, enabling him to be placed at a prestigious medical device firm in Mahwah, NJ.

Chris believes that simply accepting the fact that no job is permanent, not even direct hire positions, helps to keep things in perspective. Chris recommends that once placed, all employees should focus on how to improve their efficiency and strive to meet deadlines, and “often your reward will be a renewed contract.” He recommends that contractors take satisfaction in learning new skills and developing new competencies that will enhance overall worth and job performance. Then regardless of how a position turns out, one will have an improved tool kit of skills to bring to an employer.
